Day 2- Boston to Vermont Adventures

WELCOME TO VERMONT! That is the sign we read when we entered Vermont, a state full of adventure waiting to happen, like all states!! 😂 But like all travel days, we start by waking up (in this case in a hotel) and getting somewhere fun and active to start off our day!! Today we decided to take a little walk to go visit a river in Boston. But on the way we stopped by places. One of the places we stopped by was a medical school. Very interesting shape, like a Dr. Seuss building in one of his creative worlds!

I say that this was so cool!! On the way Jonah and I hopped rocks. Then after that funky building we saw a HUGE waffle building. At least it looks like a waffle! We eventually came to the river – Charles River!!

It was very pretty with Boston in the background! We studied the view and went back to the hotel to pack up and hit the road! To Vermont!!!! We were on the road for about 45 minutes before we stopped at a grocery store to get some snacks, some water, and a toothbrush for Julia! We were on the road for about another 45 minutes before we stopped for a bathroom break. After that it was a solid hour and a half before we hit an awesome adventure park. It was named… Bromley. I’m not trying to make you jealous but I might have to to get the point of how amazing it was. Bromley had a Giant Swing ride. This ride sits four people. Then you get lifted, you drop and swing!

On this ride there was a clicking seat. I mean when you get lifted (and you’re sitting in the clicking seat) the seat clicks and goes down. I got placed there first when I went with mom and then Jonah got placed there second and here is a video. You can here him scream!! placeholder://

Another thing, there was a half mile zip line. It takes about 15 minutes to get up and 30 seconds to get down but I promise you it is sooo worth it. You go up a slow ski lift and then you walk to the little zip line start place. I will show you a video of Mom, Julia, and I going down. There was also a worker on the very left.

As at every park, there was Bungee Jumping on the trampoline things. I didn’t go on that because I go every year at the Chili Cook Off. But Jonah and Julia went on them. But that wasn’t all they had. One really cool thing they had were these scooter-sled things. You sit on it and go down a track. To do that you had to go up the ski lift, grab a scooter and go down a track. placeholder://placeholder://

There was more. Something I spent a lot of time on was the rock climbing wall. If you reached the top to Level 4, you got a sticker. I have to say out of Jonah, Julia, and I, I worked the hardest on 4 and was the only one who didn’t complete it. I was really sad but that was just a reason to not give up. There was a basketball game where if you got the least amount of shots then you got sprayed with water. And there was a fun water slide that you went down on a raft that could take one or two people at a time!! There also was a ride thing called Space Bikes. This was cool but the only people who went on were Julia and Dad. Jonah and I weren’t tall enough.

We eventually left around five because that was when it closed and we headed to our hotel and chilled, went to dinner, and chilled more!! Manchester, Vermont is just what our family needed!!

Lil’ Lily Out!!

The sun comes out around 5am up here in New England at this time if year and I woke up shortly thereafter with energy to burn and a hotel room of the family still enjoying the dream state so I decided to head out for a run.

Cambridge and Boston are a runners paradise. There is a trail running for miles along both sides the St Charles River with multiple bridges connecting the two towns. This makes it easy to run loops around the river while taking in the beautiful views of Boston’s skyline, college campuses (I ran through MIT) and upscale residences.

What a great way to start the day before jumping in the car for a 3-hour drive to Bromley Adventure Park in Manchester, VT.

I agree with Lily that Manchester (Bromley’s) was just what we needed. Some outdoor fun and activity to kick off our road trip!

Highlights to remember:

Racing down the luge track on sleds
    Half-mile zip line
