As part of our first wedding anniversary back in 2005, Shane and I had traveled to San Francisco. We visited our friends – The Coreys – and did wine country. One of our favorite stops along the way to Napa was Muir Woods. Its still a delight.
Before heading to the park, we cruised into Sausalito for a picnic lunch and the kids’ daily ice cream fix. 🤣 Sausalito is beautiful. Views of San Francisco, Angel Island, Alcatraz and Tiburon across the Richardson Bay capture your attention. Or your gaze may be pulled by the gorgeous sailboats at the marina or the multi-million dollar houses jutting out from the hillside.
To say Muir Woods is majestic is an understatement. The redwoods tower over you shrouding you with cover from the sun, which glimpses through from time to time. I remember having an expectation of seeing fairies fluttering around and this time was no different. You feel like you are walking in a magical forest wonderland.
