The Homer Spit and More

When planning our trip, we did what we always do–research. Homer, Alaska was listed as a must-do when visiting the Kenai Peninsula. Visit the Homer Spit. Visit the Homer Spit. So what is the Homer Spit.

The Homer Spit is a 4.5 mile thin piece of land that juts out into the Kachemak Bay. Stores, restaurants and businesses line the roadway, many connected by boardwalks that also offer incredible views of the mountain ranges and the rocky beach below. Choose your adventure. A fishing charter. A bear excursion. A kayak journey. A water taxi to a glacier hike. Plenty of things to do to keep the adventurer in you alive.

Pick up a fresh batch of halibut or salmon caught that day on a charter. Wander along the docks of the marina. There really is something for everyone. ~Gina
